I'm going on an adventure!

Dear family and friends,

As you might have noticed I'm writing this blog in English. For those who know me well; i've got family and friends all over the world, so I want to give them the opportunity to read my blog as well (you're welcome). And for my Dutch friends: i hope you can practice your English this way!! :) It might take me some more time to write it, but it's worth it. For those who'd like to follow me: you can subscribe with your email and you will receive a notification everytime i post something.

So.... just two more nights and i'm heading off to SEA! Until this weekend, it all still seemed very unreal, because i was waiting for my visa and had to book a hostel for the first couple of nights etc. And besides that, i'm still recovering a little bit from my jet lag i got in Chile. But everything is in order now and i'm ready to pack my back! 

My first stop will be in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I'm very excited to get to know this enormous city!! Can't wait to learn about the culture, the food and people.. Then after 4 nights i'll be heading to the beautiful country Myanmar (Burma). I've got my visa and my ticket booked with AirAsia. I will arrive in Yangon, which is the former capital of Myanmar and the country's largest city (5 million inhabitants!!). I've heard so many good things about this country, so now i'm ready to see it with my own eyes. But the best thing about this 3 week trip through Myanmar is that i will be doing it with my very good friend Jolien!! After travelling for 3 months through Asia, she now is a complete backpacking-expert so i think we will be just fine! :) (no pressure Jolien;)) 

I'm still not sure where to go after Myanmar.. Thailand? Vietnam? I'd like to keep my options open and let myself be surprised..

As some of you probably know, i will be leaving with mixed feelings. This week has been terribly rough for a very good friend of mine and she and her family will be facing an incredibly tough period. My thoughts are with them and i wish them all the strength and love there is in the world.

Holland, I will see you in 4 months.

    Mooi stukje lieve pan! Als je het niet heel erg vindt blijf ik hier in het Nederlands schrijven haha. Zo vet dat je dit gaat doen. Het wordt een onvergetelijke tijd!! Fijn dat alles nu geregeld is. Succes morgen met de laatste dingen regelen. Enjooooy your trip!!! Veel liefs

    NOOO ik mis je nu al. Of moet ik ook in het Engels reageren?! I ken not spiek rillie goet Inglisj soooo ik denk dat ik het voorlopig maar in het Nederlands hou :) let me know if after a couple of weeks you forgot how to speak/read Dutch, then I'll try to switch to English! Lieve pan, ik vind je mega super dapper dat je dit avontuur aangaat en ik zal je vier maanden missen! Maar als je dan weer terugbent kunnen we eindelijk weer een harde kern meeting houden, BOEM! Geniet van alleeeeees en hou ons maar goed op de hoogte! LOVE YA!

    Lieve pan! Mooi stukje heb je geschreven! Ik wens je een super mooie tijd in Azië, lekker alleen maar doen wat je zelf wilt! Ik ga je ondertussen wel lastig vallen met wat je het mooiste/leukste vond, zodat ik een beetje weet wat leuk is om naar toe te gaan haha! ENJOY, en keep us updated!! Dikke kus en knuffel

    Wat ontzettend leuk dat je deze reis gaat maken.
    Ik ben zeer benieuwd naar je ervaringen.
    Ik zou het dan ook heel leuk vinden om op de hoogte gehouden te worden en van ver een beetje mee te kunnen genieten!
    Een hele goede reis gewenst, pas goed op jezelf, maar bovenal, geniet!!

    Omdat iedereen al in het Nederlands of Engels schrijft zal ik het doen in het Maleis, dan kun je alvast oefenen.
